How to Add Alternative Documents to Data Templates

When you post a vacancy on Martide you need to specify which documents you need a seafarer to hold before they can apply or be recruited. Alternative Documents lets you override that.

This lets you consider candidates who may hold different, but still relevant, certificates.

Alternative Documents are added to a Data Template at the Required Documents stage. You can add them when you’re creating a new Data Template or you can edit an existing template and add them at a later date.

How to add Alternative Documents to a Data Template

You must be at the Required Documents stage in a Data Template and have already added some documents:

To add an Alternative Document, click the three dots next to a document's name:

This opens the Alternative Documents pop-up box.

Select the document(s) that you will allow a seafarer to use instead of your original document(s).

For example, we specified a candidate should have Elementary First Aid to apply for our vacancy, but if someone suitable applies who doesn't hold an EFA certificate but they DO hold Basic First Aid, they can still apply.

Click Save and you will now see this:

The Alternative Document or Documents are now listed beneath the original document.
