Your vessels probably have slightly different information to one another - such as different T&Cs. Vessel Custom Fields give you more flexibility and let you customize the information for each vessel.
For example:
You want to insert a specific sentence into the contracts used for seafarers hired to work on your tankers.
You want to change the name of your company with some vessels being under ‘ABC Crewing Ltd.' and others being under ‘ABC Crewing Manila Inc.’.
You can add a field and name it something relevant. This field is then added to all your vessels, and in those vessels, you can add specific information.
Where to find the Vessel Custom Fields feature
Log into Martide and click on Settings in the menu under your name and then on Vessel Custom Fields:
You will go to this page:
Here you can:
See all your Vessel Custom Fields.
Add a new Vessel Custom Field.
Order your Vessel Custom Fields alphabetically or numerically by clicking the arrow next to Name.
How to add a new Vessel Custom Field
Click the blue Add Vessel Custom Field button at the top of the page. You will see this pop-up box:
Enter the name of your Vessel Custom Field and click Save. The new field will appear on the main page:
In our example above, we have added 4 Vessel Custom Fields.
How to use a Vessel Custom Field
To add custom fields to your vessels, go to the Vessels page and click on a vessel’s name:
Scroll down the Vessel Details page to the Custom Fields section:
You will see the Vessel Custom Fields you have added. Click the pen icon next to the field you want to use. You will see this pop-up box:
Enter whatever you want the value to be. For example, a version of your company’s name. Click Save and it will appear in the Vessel Custom Fields section:
This value can then be used throughout the system such as within Document Assembly.
