How to Add Departments

In Martide you can create Departments for the different teams on your vessels. This makes it easier to organize your seafarers and ranks by department.


Log into Martide and click Settings under your profile icon and then Departments:

The Departments page looks like this. We’ve already added 2 departments; Engine and Deck:

How to Add a New Department in Martide

Click the blue Add Department button at the top. You will see this pop-up box:

Enter the name of your department in the box and click Save. Your department will appear on the main screen.

To edit a department’s name, click the pen icon. To delete a department, click the trash can icon. Note: you can only delete a department if it does not have any ranks added to it.

How to Add a Seafarer Rank to a Department

To add ranks to your departments, go to Settings > Seafarer Ranks

When you’re on the Seafarer Ranks page, click the pen icon next to a rank to edit it:

That will open this pop-up box where you can select that rank’s department:

The department will then appear on the main Seafarer Ranks page:

A Note About Seafarer Ranks

Martide comes prebuilt with various seafarer ranks already added to the system. If you’d like to add any other ranks, please email us at [email protected] and tell us the name of the rank you would like us to add.
